Welcome to Yepa's own page!
Yepa is our first malamute, which came to our
family 3.6.2006. Yepa is bred by kennel Neatut and her official name
is Neatut Ongomiark. Yepa's calling name means as apache Indians
language Snow Princess.
At first Yepa was placed to us, but after veterinary found out
distichiasis (lot of extra eyelashes) in her eyes, breeder decided
not to use her in their breeding plans and she became as our own
dog. In official eye examination 3.5.2007 veterinary also found HC
(catharsis) and PHTVL(open-diagnosis) in Yepa's eyes. That means that at least then
she wouldn't be a good breeding dog, unfortunately!

Alaskan malamute as a our next dog's race was started by Pekka.
After a little while enthusiasm seized also me and we started to
find out more about malamutes. We were interested in malamute's
character - playful, loves people, it's sportyness and winter
tolerance and of course it's gorgeous look. Malamutes character was
something conveniently challenging and of course health brought as
primitive race.
For this time Yepa has turned out just like we hoped for. She is
daring, playful, open minded and she really loves people. Even
though she has very purposeful and maybe a little hard will, she is
humble and obedient for people - at least most of the time.
Sometimes she is struck by "i-don't- know-what-
you-are-talking-to-me"-feeling, such as most malamutes do.
Yepa is very greedy after food and she has no sense of humor with
her food. She is also very talkative malamute, her talking is
everything between howling, growling and woo-woo, but she doesn't
bark a lot. She gets along pretty well with other dogs, but any
provocation she don't take.
When Yepa grows up more, we are going to take a interested in
everything typical for malamutes: cani-cross, hiking, sledding and
weight pulling. We are also going to
participate some dog shows. In winter 2007-2008 we are going to
participate some sled dog races too.
We are interested to follow her growth and development to a big and
strong sled dog and we'll try to go deep into malamutes "spirit".
